Pumpkin Patch......

Well we made our first trip to the Elegant Farmer Pumpkin Patch today and it was a lot of fun. She did a great job despite the chill in the air! Here are a few pics that we took.....notice that she has her shoe & sock off her left foot in her picture of her by herself (the second she can reach them, they are off!) Enjoy!

6 Months Old......

Lilly turned 6 months old yesterday.....man does time fly! This picture was taking this morning instead of on her "day" because yesterday she was a crabby patty! This outfit is sooooo cute....I got it from my cousin Christie at my baby shower. Lilly loves the outfit to because when she's sitting she can stare at Minnie on her feet :) Enjoy.

Big Girl Sitting

Lilly has been doing a great job at sitting on her own....she doesn't have too many problems forward and back, she still struggles a little with side to side. As you can see by the picture she is missing a sock; this is her new "trick" she does...she takes off her left sock then puts her toes in her mouth. I haven't caught it on tape or in a picture yet but that is one of her latest tricks. The other has just been in the last couple days she has started to roar like a lion instead of "talking". Who knows where she got it from but she's been doing it a lot :)

Updates.......

Well we're still trucking along....working hard, playing hard and watching Lilly grow up very quickly in front of our eyes! She's doing great and is developing so quickly (in our opinion!). She loves teething biscuits, bananas and her bouncy seat. She rolls over so quickly that you basically need to pin her down to change her diaper, she doesn't go without attempting to put EVERYTHING in her mouth, including Houdini's tongue. Her lower gums are getting whiter and whiter as the weeks go on and the drool has intensified ten-fold! We already have her Halloween costume and we cannot wait for the world to see :) We enjoy every minute we get with her, even though it usually IS her crabbiest time of the day. Here is one more picture of her being a "big girl" in her high chair. Enjoy.

Birthday Party....Count Me In

These are a few pictures from this wild Birthday Party I went to last weekend.....I need some support while sitting in the glider because I just can't sit up long enough by myself......Instead of the intoxicating cake they had, I had to eat a boring teething biscuits (I secrectly LOVVVVVVVVVVE these!) and it was so cold I thought it was fall already. Overall they did a good job of hosting this birthday party but for mine, I have a lot of ideas in mind :) I'll keep you posted!

5 Months Old

Well, I would have had Lilly's 5 month picture up sooner had I not erased it!!!! This one ended up being a little cuter since I styled her hair a tad bit different than ever before. Not much has changed since her last doctors appointment except that she is doing much better with her medicine and she laughs, talks, pulls, slobbers and squeals more than ever! Enjoy the picture and if you want to see a lot more pics of the queen find me on facebook....we just signed up and it's an easier way to download pics for all the world to see :)

Tuesday Mornings.....

I LOVVVVVVVVVVVVE Tuesday Mornings! Soon it'll be Wednesday Mornings, but right now Tuesday Mornings are awesome! I work my night on Tuesday's so I have all morning with Lilly and the dogs. It's great because on any other day, except weekends, we only get to see her at night from about 530-8 depending on when she finally falls asleep. The nighttime is typically her hardest time of the day because she's tired and all tuckered out from the events of the day so our time is often intruded in on by tears or lots of yawns. Tuesday mornings are my time to kiss her and play with her at some of the most fun hours of the day. She is ALWAYS laughing and smiling in the morning so getting to be part of those moments are amazing. Here are a few pics from this morning after she took her nap, enjoy because as you can tell Houdini sure did :)

Eating Like A Cow....

Well we're not following the typical parenting schedule, which doesn't make us bad parents, we're just doing what works for Lilly. She's been losing a little interest in her bottles so we've been giving her baby food two times a day with her bottles and she loves it! This is a video from Tuesday when I was feeding her green beans. It may be disgusting to many but to us it is hilarious and obviously adorable! You'll have to excuse the last part of the video, the camera fell off her seat. Hope you enjoy because as you can tell she sure does!

4 Months Old

My goodness where has the time gone? I cannot believe that our little girl is already four months old. She seems to be growing and developing much quicker than I was emotionally prepared for! She just had her four month checkup on Friday and it went amazing. Everyone always has a great, but biased, opinion of how smart and how cute their child is so anytime an "outsider" can confirm or agree with your opinions it can melt your heart! Lilly weighed in at 14 lbs 9 ozs (75th percentile) and is 26 3/4 inches "tall" (97th percentile).

Dr. Grunske, her pediatrician, is more than amazed with her capabilities at the young ripe age of 4 months. She is rolling over both ways, first she rolled over belly to back and now back to belly is almost instantaneous. She can stand up with just holding our fingers on most occasions but she still does get scarecrow legs every now and again. And her conversations with us are so educational and full of information :) According to her Dr. Grunske usually gives out the "safety" booklet at the 6 month checkup but she said since Lilly is sooooo active she thought it'd be important for us to have earlier than most.
When I was at the appointment, it was so amazing to have her confirm everything we've been thinking about her. It's kind of weird, Lilly has had a thyroid problem since birth and has been taking medicine for it since she was a month old, and the thyroid is associated with brain and eye development....well I'll be a monkey's uncle if she isn't one of the most developed babies I've seen. (Another somewhat biased opinion---and a realistic observation!)

Enough of the bragging....here is the 4 month picture of our monkey with her monkey :) And we sure are "Lovin Life with Lilly"

Happy 1st Father's Day Dad. I love you!

Three Months Old

Ok so it's been almost a month since I've blogged...opps. It's almost 11pm here and I just got home from work, I'm tired and still need to kiss my baby goodnight but I thought I'd finally update this. The next pictures won't have much commentary, just a few captions about each picture. Enjoy our beautiful baby girl :)

Road Trip To Indiana

Lilly made her first road trip to Indiana this past weekend and it wasn't too bad. I was in Shelly & Tony's Wedding in Richmond so we dropped her off at Mom and Dad's and made the trip with just us. Mom and Dad said she was good but it seems to me that almost every picture they gave us has her crying in it. I do know that she was exhausted once we got home...so exhausted it took us until midnight to get her to sleep, she was fighting it!

The last few days have been the most challenging so far primarily because she's starting to "voice" herself more. We had to change her to formula today because the change in my routine this weekend pretty much made my milk disappear. I was having trouble prior to this weekend, taking supplements, pumping after every feeding etc. so just a few missed feedings and wala my milk was gone. I'm going to try and revive it but I'm being more realistic than optimistic, but keep your fingers crossed.

Attached are two of our family pictures that we had Dad take...couldn't get too many because of time and it was during her nap time. Opps.

Playtime

Well this video doesn't have anything monumental but it shows Lilly having some fun! I got this V-tech gym at a garage sale for $5 and she loves it!! The dogs also love it when she's "playing" with it because that means she's at their level so they can give her lots of kisses.

2 Months Old

Well tomorrow our baby is going to be two months old and on Monday I must venture back to good ole' Walgreens. What a sad next couple of days. Until then I will be stealing a lot of kisses!

Here is her two month old picture....this time I took the advice of Julie and put her next to one of her stuffed animals so her progress can be tracked. I picked curious george because often times she looks like a little monkey :) Unofficially (two month appt is on the 12th) she is 23.25 inches long and 11lbs.

A Little Catchin' Up To Do

I apologize I haven't been very diligent with posting in the last week or two. I've taken lots of pictures and we've done a lot of stuff but I haven't taken the time to sit down and post them. I only have one more week of leave left and I am already getting sad. I am going to miss being home with Lilly and all the kisses I steal, the naps we take and all the smiles and small noises she has been making more and more lately. Every day brings something new with her and everyday I fall in love with her over and over again. Who knew I could love this much...between her, Bill and the dogs my cup runneth over.

Enjoy the pics and I'll work on doing more frequent blogs.

A Fun Day At The Zoo

Since Friday was such a beautiful day; Me, Lilly, Becky and Jack thought we'd go catch some sun at the Milwaukee Zoo. Becky, Mike and Jack got a season pass so we packed up the little ones and went and enjoyed the animals. Obviously, Lilly and Jack didn't have a clue what was going on but it was a great time for Becky and Me! We can't wait until we can take her and she'll understand and appreciate all of the animals, it's such an awesome zoo. The funny thing about Jack and Lilly that day (even though you can't see their outfits very good) is that they were "dressed" as animals...Lilly was a panda bear and Jack was a Lion. Too cute!

One Month Checkup

Lilly had her one month check up today and it went well. She weighed in at 10lbs (up from 8 lbs 5 ozs @ 2 wk appt) which is the 75th percentile and 22.5 inches long (she grew 1.5 inches in 2 weeks! WOW!) coming in at the 90th percentile.
In addition to her pediatrician appointment she started her first prescription today. When she had bloodwork done in the hospital after delivery they found her thyroid levels to be abnormal. After three IV blood draws, and not enough progress, they decided it'd be best to start her on a prescription to stabilize the levels as it can affect brain development. Her endocronologist seems positive that it'll only be a two year prescrition not something she'll have to take her entire life, we'll wait and see. The hard thing about this prescription is that it only comes in pill form so we have to crush the pill and successfully feed it to her on a spoon with water....talk about tough.

Other than that, not much is going on here. Weather permitting, we are taking our first trip to the zoo tomorrow with Becky and Jack (3 months old). I know the kids don't have any clue what is going on but it's something fun for me and Becky to do!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there, I am so excited to be part of that group now.

Our first blog....

Well since we have so many friends and family that are out of state we thought we'd copy Matt and Julie's idea and create a blog. We hope to keep everyone updated with things we're doing as well as Lilly's growth and progress. This first one is just a trial to try and figure out what we're doing. Stay tuned for our next update......
