Lilly had her one month check up today and it went well. She weighed in at 10lbs (up from 8 lbs 5 ozs @ 2 wk appt) which is the 75th percentile and 22.5 inches long (she grew 1.5 inches in 2 weeks! WOW!) coming in at the 90th percentile.
In addition to her pediatrician appointment she started her first prescription today. When she had bloodwork done in the hospital after delivery they found her thyroid levels to be abnormal. After three IV blood draws, and not enough progress, they decided it'd be best to start her on a prescription to stabilize the levels as it can affect brain development. Her endocronologist seems positive that it'll only be a two year prescrition not something she'll have to take her entire life, we'll wait and see. The hard thing about this prescription is that it only comes in pill form so we have to crush the pill and successfully feed it to her on a spoon with water....talk about tough.
Other than that, not much is going on here. Weather permitting, we are taking our first trip to the zoo tomorrow with Becky and Jack (3 months old). I know the kids don't have any clue what is going on but it's something fun for me and Becky to do!
Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there, I am so excited to be part of that group now.
